Description

Regal. Deep. Unforgettable.

Rocoto is a chili of its own kind. Belonging to Capsicum pubescens — a species apart from all other cultivated chilies, recognizable by its hairy leaves, purple flowers, and black seeds — rocoto carries a rich, juicy, almost apple-like fruitiness that no other chili quite matches. Smoked, it becomes something truly special.

The thick-walled pods are prepared by hand and slowly smoked for over 24 hours using traditional Nordic smoking woods. No smoke liquids, sprays, or artificial flavorings are used at any stage — only time, wood, and careful control. After smoking, the chilies are dried using a process refined through decades of experience.

The result is nothing short of royal. Deep, rounded wood smoke meets the dense, fruity body of rocoto, followed by a clean, generous heat. For many lovers of smoked chili, this is the most delicious product in the entire Vault — rich, savory, and impossible to forget.

⚠️ Important — protect your teeth!
Due to the unusually thick, fleshy structure of rocoto, dried rocoto flakes may contain very hard pieces. Please be careful when biting. For the best experience, grind the flakes finer before use — with a mortar and pestle, an electric coffee grinder, or a spice mill.

Produced in a limited run for the Fatalii Chili Vault. Availability is restricted, and this batch may not return.
