Description

Syrian Haskorea is a rare variety from Syria, a slender red chili of the Eastern Mediterranean kitchen. The pods are about 8–10 cm long and ripen from green to a vibrant red.

The heat is a balanced medium, a little hotter than a jalapeño but never overwhelming. The flesh is fairly thick and crunchy, and the flavour combines subtle sweetness with depth.

Use it in fresh salsas, pickles and Middle Eastern dishes, or dry it for flakes. The plants are hardy and productive, and they love warm, sunny conditions.
