This variety produces big, round, heart-shaped peppers with a vibrant appearance, featuring the distinctive corking often seen in Farmers’ Market jalapeños. While it carries the signature mild heat of a jalapeño, it also offers a sweeter, juicier flavor, making it perfect for roasting, stuffing, or enjoying fresh in salsas and salads.

Although Jalapeño Dieguito is already popular for its flavor and versatility, the variety is still in the process of becoming fully stable, meaning some variations in the size or appearance of the peppers may occur from plant to plant.
