Pink Tiger

Description

Pink Tiger is one of the most beautiful chilies we grow, and one of the least predictable. Pods that hang in direct sun can develop dark purple stripes running down their length, and even the shaded ones shift through green, peach and purple, sometimes all on the same pod. No two plants look quite alike.

Behind the looks there is a serious chili. The pods are very hot, with a rich chinense aroma that makes them just as useful in the kitchen as on the plant: hot sauces, salsas, ferments and everyday cooking.

This line is not stabilised. Expect variation from plant to plant in colour, striping and pod shape, which is a large part of the fun with this one. Isolate the plants if you want to save seed. The stripes need sun, so give the plants your brightest spot. Despite its exotic look, Pink Tiger is easy to grow: sow it early and give it warmth, light and a roomy pot.
