T-Rex Chocolate

Description

The chocolate face of the T-Rex line — Trinidad Douglah crossed with Bhutlah, which is about as heavy a superhot pedigree as exists. The pods are twisted, wrinkled and thoroughly unfriendly-looking, ripening to a rich chocolate brown.

Reported at somewhere between 1.2 and 1.5 million Scoville, though it is worth saying plainly that no T-Rex has ever been lab-tested and every number in circulation is an estimate. What is not in doubt is that this sits among the hottest peppers you can grow.

The Douglah half shows in the flavour: a real fruity sweetness underneath, which is what separates a good chocolate superhot from a merely painful one. Bushy plants to around 90 cm, producing continuously through a long season. Hot sauce and powder — and small quantities of either.
