Description

Moruga Sweet is a low-heat form of the Moruga Scorpion, found and developed by my friend Chris Fowler. It looks the part: the same bumpy, wrinkled pods with a stubby tail, ripening to a glossy, deep red.

The surprise comes when you taste it. You brace yourself for one of the hottest chilies on earth, and instead you get only a mild warmth. What stays is the full superhot flavour: rich, fruity and aromatic, the kind of taste that is usually hidden behind a wall of pain.

That makes it a fantastic kitchen chili for anyone who loves the taste of superhots but not the burn. Use it raw in salads and salsas, in sauces where you want the aroma without the heat, or chop it generously into anything that needs a fruity lift. The plant is easy to grow.
