Lavender Peach

Description

Lavender Peach is a variety with a rare detail: the stem and calyx often take on the same colour as the pod, which gives the whole fruit a beautifully finished look. The pods ripen from green to a soft peach and a vivid lavender-purple, often both on the same pod, with a glossy sheen.

The skin is smooth and the flesh soft. Behind the pastel colours there is a very high heat and an exotic, fruity aroma.

The plant tolerates a range of conditions and does well outdoors in the sun, in a pot indoors and in the greenhouse. The darker-than-average leaves set off the colourful pods nicely. The variety is still stabilising, so expect some variation in the pods, which only adds to the fun of growing it.
