Description

NuMex Centennial was released by New Mexico State University in 1988 to celebrate the university’s centennial. It was bred as an ornamental for small containers, and it does that job beautifully.

The small, upright pods start out green and deep violet and ripen through yellow and orange to red, so the compact plant is covered in colour for months. It produces generously through the season.

It is more than a decoration: the pods have a medium heat and a bright, fresh flavour that works in salsas, salads and as a colourful garnish. A very easy grower for windowsills and balconies.
