Habanero Batman Pineapple

Description

Habanero Batman Pineapple may well be the most astonishing chili name we have ever come across, and over the years we have come across a good many. The name has a simple explanation: the variety was found and developed by a grower known in the chili community simply as “Batman”, and the pineapple part describes the pods themselves.

The pods are a bit elongated and bright pineapple-yellow, longer and more twisted than a classic habanero lantern, and some carry a small pointed tail. They ripen from green to yellow, with a fruity, tropical aroma that arrives first and proper habanero heat close behind. Use them in hot sauces, salsas, marinades and ferments, where the aroma carries through.

This line is not fully stabilised. Expect some variation in pod shape and shade of yellow from plant to plant. Like every habanero, it wants a long, warm season: sow early, keep it warm and bright, and give it a good-sized pot or a greenhouse spot in northern conditions.
