Bolivian Rainbow, Sweet Giant (F6)

Description

Bolivian Rainbow Sweet Giant (C. annuum) is our own selection from the ornamental Bolivian Rainbow, taken in the direction the original never went: bigger pods and real sweetness. The parent is grown for looks — its flavour is crisp but plain — and this line keeps the colour show while giving you something worth eating.

The pods are a much larger version of the original, running purple to red and picking up bright yellow, orange and dark striping along the way. How much of that colour you get depends on your growing conditions: two growers can raise the same seed and end up with visibly different plants. The flavour is very sweet and at its best eaten fresh, straight into a salad.

The foliage carries the Bolivian Rainbow character too — dark green deepening to glossy near-black purple, with purple flowers — so the plant looks good before a single pod colours up. It stays manageable and takes well to a pot and to bonchi work.

One thing to know before you sow: this is an F6 selection and it is not yet fully stable. Expect variation between plants, and expect some of them to be more interesting than others. That is the nature of growing out a line that is still being worked on — and part of the fun.

Each pack contains approximately 8–10 or more seeds per variety.
