Thai Orange Hot

Description

A Thai chili that ripens orange instead of red. The pods are slender and tapering, around 5 cm long and barely half a centimetre wide, held upright above the foliage so a cropping plant looks like it has been lit from within.

The heat is serious — well into bird’s-eye territory — and it arrives fast and clean, the piercing kind that makes a stir-fry work. The walls are thin, which means the pods dry quickly and completely: excellent for flakes, for powder, and for steeping into chili oil.

Compact bushy plants of 60–90 cm with white flowers and a very heavy set, finishing in around 85 days. Everything Thai cooking asks of a chili, in a colour you rarely see.

Each pack contains approximately 8–10 or more seeds per variety.
