Siberian Indoor Pepper

Description

A small chili with an unusual talent: it does genuinely well as a houseplant. Reputedly of Russian origin, it stays compact, copes with a modest pot, and tolerates a dimmer corner better than most chilies will — though like every pepper it still needs real light to actually set fruit. For a bright windowsill through a Nordic winter, there are few better candidates.

The pods are small and neat, ripening green to red, with a medium heat that is useful rather than ornamental — enough to cook with, not enough to frighten anyone.
