Big Black Mama is a chocolate superhot with a serious pedigree. Bred by Troy Primeaux of Louisiana — the man behind the 7 Pot Primo — from a cross of Naga Morich and 7 Pot Trinidad Douglah, this Capsicum chinense ripens to a deep chocolate brown that turns almost black.

What sets it apart is the Douglah inheritance in the aroma. Open the bag and you get sweetness, citrus, and dark tropical fruit — a rich, almost dessert-like fragrance that arrives a fraction of a second before the heat does. Then the heat takes over completely: fast, wide, and long-lasting, firmly in superhot territory.

This Vault batch is produced in small quantity from Finnish-grown plants. The pods are harvested at full ripeness and carefully dried to preserve the variety’s dark color and complex aromatic profile. No smoke or additional processing — the depth here is entirely the chili’s own.
